Leadership Insight

The month of February was very colourful and special to The Pupil on three accounts.

  1. The Culmination of Pupil Quest
  2. Chitira Punaivu - Our annual art show
  3. The Award of Platinum Plus by QS I-Gauge

The Pupil Quest is a unique initiative of The Pupil wherein the student (above the age of 10) should choose a sport (physical activity) and an art (theatre/ music/ creative arts/ literary activity) and spend a minimum two hours every week in it for the entire academic year. This is done as part of the curriculum such that every pupilite learns a sport and an art form at school. The culmination of The Pupil Quest (TPQ) brought in parents who witnessed their wards sing/ play and exhibit the learning over the year.

The fifth edition of Chithira Punaivu was celebrated with live demonstration by eminent artists and guests who were enthralled with the work of the children.
Dr. J. Radhakrishnan IAS quotes, " It was a delightful experience to visit this wonderful school. I was literally stupefied by the talent of the students and their involvement in academics and also sustainable art. The involvement of faculty and their dedication is worth mentioning."

The highlight of the school year was the Award of Platinum Plus Rating by the internationally renowned organisation QS I-Gauge. Our school was assessed on nine important parameters namely Teaching & Learning, Competency Development, Resources and Facilities, Social responsibility and Sensitisation, Health & Safety, Academic facilitation, Governance & Inclusion practices and two special criteria- Arts and Sports. Excellence in all the above parameters helped us become the first and only school (as of now) to achieve Platinum Plus Rating. Our sincere gratitude is due to our diligent teachers guided by Mrs. Dolly Mohan, Principal, our ever supporting teachers and amazing children. I end with the quote, " Education is the most powerful weapon that one can use to change the world". May our Pupilites be the Hero warriors of truth and the harbingers of peace and harmony.

AI and Its Endless War Against Human Nature

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most widely used technological tools in the modern world. It is integrated into smartphones, utilized by healthcare professionals, applied in e-commerce, deployed as AI chatbots in customer service, and implemented in banking, among countless other fields. AI even surpasses human capabilities in certain areas, performing tasks with remarkable speed and precision, eliminating errors, and significantly reducing the time required for manual labor.
However, one domain where AI should not intrude is the deeply human realm of art. The use of AI to write novels, compose music, paint stunning images, or generate artificial photographs is a matter of ethical concern. AI relies on the work of human creators, often using their art, words, and voices without their consent. Beyond the issue of ethics, there is a profound flaw in AI-generated art—it lacks genuine emotion. True art originates from the depths of human experience; every word in a novel is carefully chosen, each brushstroke on a canvas is infused with vision and intent, and every photograph captures a fleeting moment that may one day spark nostalgia. Art has the unique ability to transcend borders, touching souls across cultures, languages, and beliefs.

By creating a tool that threatens to strip away this magnificent aspect of human expression, we risk diminishing one of the greatest triumphs of creativity. While AI is undeniably beneficial and, in some cases, even essential, its unchecked expansion into the arts paves the way for a dystopian future—a world where human beings become passive, mindless consumers of machine-generated content, enslaved by a creation of their own making.
