World Food Day is celebrated annually on 16th October to promote global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and to highlight the need to ensure a healthy diet for all. It commemorates the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945.
The Pupil International school celebrated this day in tune with the theme for 2022, ‘Leave NO ONE behind’.
The entire school came together to set up food stalls serving a variety of preparations by the students. They worked as one big family preparing sandwiches and other food items that were then put up on sale. The senior students handled the sales counters. Student agency was at its best with the entire event being smoothly organized and handled by the students themselves and deciding to utilize the proceeds of the sales for the school Community project.
The day saw a lot of fun and excitement and was an enriching experience for children, where they experienced the joy of working together for a greater cause.
