Insightful Session on Horticulture Therapy

On August 20, 2024, an engaging session was held by Dr. Shamili Thirumaran, a former dental surgeon and psychological counselor, who pioneered "Horticulture Therapy." Dr. Shamili introduced students to the mental health benefits of terrace gardening and seed ball creation. Students actively participated in hands-on activities, learning sustainable practices while deepening their connection with nature. The session highlighted the therapeutic value of horticulture and its role in fostering mental well-being, leaving a lasting impact on both students and staff. 

Montessori Day

Our school proudly celebrated Dr. Maria Montessori Day on 30th August 2024. We were delighted to have parents join their children for an immersive experience, engaging firsthand with the Montessori philosophy. This student-led initiative featured children presenting and demonstrating Montessori materials under the guidance of their educators.
Parents actively participated by working with the Montessori materials and gaining valuable insights into their children's daily activities. The event provided a joyful experience and an opportunity to educate parents on the Montessori approach and its impact on their children's learning journey.

Krishna Jayanthi

On August 23, 2024, our Montessori, Divyam, UKG, Grade 1, and Grade 2 students joyfully celebrated Krishna Jayanthi, dressed as Radha and Krishna. The festivities began with a heartfelt prayer song, followed by captivating performances of melodies and graceful dances. The young students enthusiastically cheered for their peers, creating a lively atmosphere. They also shared bhakshana with their loved ones, fostering a sense of joy and community during this significant festival.

Unleashing Future Entrepreneurs! 

On August 2nd, 2024, we proudly hosted The BQuest 2024 In-School Business Challenge, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among students in Grades 11 and 12.

This dynamic Shark Tank-inspired event featured teams competing with innovative business ideas. Each presentation was rigorously assessed by a distinguished panel of judges, emphasizing presentation quality, teamwork, and creativity.

Mr. Ragav G: B.E. Mechanical Engineer and founder of Primee Silicones and Superpristine India, specializing in specialty oils and FMCG products.
Dr. Sangeetha Padmanabhan: Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies at Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai.
Ms. Pavitra Deepak: Freelance interior designer and stylist at VIVIKTA DESIGNS, with notable projects including Pyramid Mall and Stephen Devassy’s studios.

The judges commended the students for their innovative ideas and impressive presentation skills, encouraging them to strive for excellence in their future endeavours.  

The Chennai B Quest 2024

On August 9th, 2024, we school proudly hosted The Chennai B Quest 2024—an Inter-School Business Challenge. The event brought together over 450 contestants from more than 20 prestigious schools across Chennai. Designed to nurture entrepreneurship and innovation among students in Grades 11 and 12, this event highlighted a remarkable display of talent.

More than 90 enthusiastic teams participated in activities such as Shark Tank, Adzap, Logo & Slogan, and the Business Quiz. The atmosphere buzzed with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, making it a true celebration of innovation.

Congratulations to all winners and participants for their hard work and creativity! With prizes worth ₹50,000 awarded across various competitions, the event reflected the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in today’s world. 

Nagasaki Day

On August 9th, 2024, our Grade 4 students participated in a meaningful activity to promote global peace. Each student inscribed the peace logo on their bags and T-shirts, symbolizing their commitment to harmony and understanding. This creative expression honored the significance of Nagasaki Day while conveying a powerful message of unity and compassion.
Their efforts serve as a lasting reminder of the importance of peace in our global community. We commend our students for their creativity and dedication to spreading awareness about peace. 

Independence Day

The Pupil School proudly celebrated our nation's 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with our NCC cadets and school band honoring our Chief Guest, Captain Kuldeep Tripathi, a distinguished Indian Navy officer with 24 years of service, along with our Founder President & Chancellor, Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan.
Captain Tripathi, from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, gave us a peek into his impressive career as a pilot in Maritime Reconnaissance, inspiring everyone with his dedication and patriotism during his motivational address. The celebration featured a flag hoisting ceremony and an impressive NCC parade, marking a significant day for our school community.

Madras Day

On August 22, 2024, We Celebrated Madras Day with vibrant enthusiasm . The event featured various activities that united students, parents, and teachers to honor Madras's rich heritage.
Stalls and Food : Parents and students set up vibrant stalls with popular regional delicacies , delighting everyone.
Cultural Programmes: The day included captivating song and dance performances by students , showcasing traditional and contemporary Madras arts.
Traditional Games: Parents and Teachers organized game stations where children could try out traditional games.
Kolam Making: Parents also contributed by creating traditional kolams and teaching our kids ​this aesthetic yet mathematical art-form. This added a personal and educational touch to the celebration. The celebrations were a resounding success, fostering community and cultural appreciation.

Olympic Quiz Spectacle

On August 12th and 13th, our school was ablaze with Olympic spirit during an exhilarating quiz based on the Olympics! Our versatile Director, Dr. Saveetha Rajesh, stepped into the role of quiz master, guiding students from Grades 4 to 8 through a fierce competition divided into two categories: Grades 4-5 and Grades 6-8. After challenging preliminary rounds, six teams emerged victorious, advancing to the finals where they showcased their brilliance and answered like true champions! A huge congratulations to all the winners and participants for their stellar performances. The quiz was a perfect mix of learning and fun, leaving students both inspired and informed.  

Explore Nature at Kuthambakkam Farm

On August 28th, Grade 3 students had a delightful day at Saveetha's farm in Kuthambakkam, exploring nature. They observed young coconut tree saplings, categorized plant stems, and admired seasonal flowers. The students also enjoyed playtime in the meadow and observed droplets on leaves, deepening their appreciation for the environment.

Unity and Sustainability at Paathshaala Kondattam

On August 1, 2024, Grade 9 students participated in the Kondattam event, themed "United World: Independent Me." The event highlighted environmental sustainability through activities like tie and dye, recycling workshops, and nature walks, while also addressing bullying through a collaborative skit. Students enjoyed presentations and a traditional Tamil lunch. This enriching experience deepened their understanding of eco-friendly practices and fostered connections among peers. 

Powerlifting Championship

Pavan Kalyaan R of Grade 12 C has secured a Gold Medal in the 11th Tamil Nadu World Powerlifting Congress Open State Championship 2024, held on 3rd August 2024. Competing in the T16-17 under-82.5 kg weight category, Pavan showcased his remarkable strength with a bench press of 92.5 kg and a deadlift of 190 kg, achieving a total lift of 282.5 kg to claim first place. Through his dedication and hard work, Pavan's remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to our school.

Off-Road Racing Event

Abhimanyu Vikram of Grade 2 E has achieved a podium finish at the Lobby Racing event held in Coimbatore, conducted by The Dirt Park on August 3-4, 2024. He has been recognized as the youngest champion in his category at India’s biggest off-road amateur racing event. It is a moment of great pride for our school to have such a talented young achiever representing us at a national level.  

Yoga Competition

Sai Siddhartha D of Divyam 3 achieved 5th place in the Open State Level Inter-School Yoga Competition, organized by Real Sports Academy at Decathlon, Chennai, on August 11, 2024. Sai Siddhartha's dedication and skill in yoga exemplify the values we uphold. 

Gymnastics Championship

We are delighted to announce the exceptional achievements of our students at the Tiruvallur District Artistic, Aerobics & Acrobatics Gymnastics Championship 2024-25, held on August 17th and 18th, 2024, at Goat Academy, SN Gymnastics, Valasaravakkam, Chennai. Our students secured gold, silver, and bronze medals, emerging as the Artistic Gymnastics Overall Winners and Aerobics Gymnastics Overall Runners-Up. These accomplishments have brought great pride to our school.

Badminton Tournament

Lavanthika M of Grade 3H has secured the Runner-Up position in the Tamil Nadu Open Junior/Sub-Junior and Senior Badminton Tournament, organized by Baddie Brothers Sports Events on August 19, 2024, at Kavins Sports Academy. We are proud of Lavanthika's achievement. 

Aquatic Championship

We are proud to announce that Preshetha P of Grade 12 Humanities secured third place in the 4×100m Freestyle Relay in the Girls' Group 1 category at the 40th Sub Junior and 50th Junior National Aquatic Championship 2024, held in Bhubaneswar from August 6 to 11, 2024.

Additionally, at the 78th Senior State Aquatic Championship 2024 in Chennai, held from August 16 to 18, 2024, Preshetha achieved first place in the 50m Breaststroke, 4×200m Freestyle Relay, and 100m Breaststroke. She also earned second place in the 4×100m Medley Relay, 4×100m Mixed Medley Relay, 200m Breaststroke, and 4×100m Freestyle Mixed Relay, as well as third place in the 100m Freestyle.

Yoga Championship

We are proud to announce that Asuri Varunaavi of Grade 5A secured second place in the State-Level Yoga Championship 2024. The event, organized by Andiappan Yoga Centre, took place on August 4, 2024, at Decathlon, Mogappair, Chennai.

Silambam Championship

We are proud to announce that Kavin Karthick R. M. of Grade 3C achieved remarkable success at the 2nd State-Level Open Silambam Championship. Kavin secured first place in the Single Stick event and second place in the Double Stick event. The championship, organized by the JJ Martial Arts Academy, Puratchi Vendhan Silamba Kalai Koodam, and Friends Exercise, Boxing & Silambam Club, took place on August 11, 2024, at Montfort Matriculation Higher Secondary School in St. Thomas Mount, Chennai.  

Chess Tournament

Congratulations to Gianna Jane Alex of Grade 4 G for her outstanding achievements in chess! She secured 14th place at the 1st Tamil Nadu State Level Children Chess Tournament 2024 on August 4, 2024. Gianna achieved 10th place in the Under-9 Girls category at the 2nd Tamil Nadu State Level Children's Chess Tournament 2024, organized by Bhaskar Chess Academy, on August 15, 2024. Additionally, she secured 8th place in the Under-9 category at the 3rd Playu State Level Chess Tournament on August 17, 2024, organized by Decathlon. We are immensely proud of Gianna's accomplishments. 

Moneeth Dvinad’s Success on the Track!

Congratulations to Moneeth Dvinad A.K. of Divyam 1 for securing third place in the 50m dash at the 16th Year Sports Meet, organized by the Special Children Sports Academy on August 22, 2024, at Southern Railway Stadium in Perambur. 

Archery Championship

We are pleased to announce that Diya Shree S of Grade 6E has secured first place in the State Invitational Indoor Field Archery Championship in the under-12 category, excelling in both the Recurve and Single Spot events. This prestigious competition, organized by Arjuna Archery Academy, the Tamil Nadu Youth Field Archery Association, and the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, took place on August 25, 2024, at Tackle Futsal, Nolambur, Chennai.  

World Record!

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Vidyut Unnikrishnan of Grade 5K for achieving a prestigious title in the India Book of World Records for the "Maximum Number of Skaters in Multiple Talents with Skating." His remarkable accomplishment of performing multi-talented non-stop skating for 78 minutes on August 15, 2024, reflects his dedication and exceptional skill. We are immensely proud of Vidyut.

Chess Tournament

Congratulations to Marisha of Grade 6F for securing 6th place in the State Level Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2024, held at Jaygopal Garodia Trust, Kolathur, on August 31st and September 1st, 2024. She received her trophy and certificate from GrandMaster Mr. Karthikeyan Murali.  

Archery Championship

We are pleased to announce that Dhakshan Immanuel S of BV3 Palai has secured second place in the Bare Bow and Single Spot event in the Under-6 category at the State Invitational Indoor Field Archery Championship. This prestigious event was organized by Arjuna Archery Academy on August 25, 2024, at Nolambur, Chennai.

Congratulations to Dev Ajesh Kumar from Grade 3G for achieving remarkable success at the State Invitational Indoor Field Archery Championship 2024, held on August 25, 2024, at Nolambur, Chennai. Organized by the Arjuna Archery Academy in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Youth Field Archery Association and Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Dev secured first place in the Recurve Bow categories: Mixed Spot, Single Spot, and Five Spot. Additionally, he ranked 4th among 70 participants from five districts across Tamil Nadu.  

Bharatanatyam Competition

We are proud to announce that Tejaswini A of Grade 4D participated in the National Level Bharatanatyam Competition, Balotsav 2024, for children aged 7 to 10. She earned the prestigious Best Performer Award in the solo Bharatanatyam category, which took place in August 2024 at the Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram in Chennai.

A Teacher Called Nature

Have you ever listened to the silent lessons of Mother Nature? Both in its biological and moral sense, Mother Nature has much to teach us because she is the ultimate teacher.

1. In Nature, every single organism—from the tiny virus to the great Sequoia Tree—has a role to play. No matter how insignificant they may seem, every single organism contributes to the circle called life. So it is with us; we all have a purpose in life, no matter where we find ourselves.
2. The wildflower and the honeybee teach us the beauty of symbiosis—the art of mutual coexistence and teamwork, which helps bear fruit.
3. Nature also teaches us adaptability—the art of resilient living. No matter how impossible a task may be, with resilience and perseverance, you can grow to great heights, like the plants growing from cracks in the walls.
4. Nature doesn’t make things easy! She allows challenges to come our way. We’ve seen how organisms evolve and develop resilience through these experiences. Remember, a smooth sea never made expert sailors!

Like Mother Nature, teachers also reveal to us amazing truths and skills, empowering us to change and become the change. Theirs is a noble profession—one that shapes generation after generation of future trailblazers. On this special day, let us honor our dear teachers, reflecting on how their hearts burned for us and how their lives were dedicated solely to us students. Through our efforts, may we become the apples of their eyes and the masterpieces of their tireless molding.
