Guest Lecture: "Mosquito Mysteries" by Dr. Ashwani Kumar

On December 3rd, The Pupil Saveetha Eco School organized a guest lecture titled "Mosquito Mysteries." Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Collaborations) and Scientific Advisor to esteemed Chancellor, Saveetha University (SIMATS) delivered the lecture for Grade 8 Iris, Grade 9, and NIOS students.

The session provided students with an in-depth understanding of various species of mosquitoes, their breeding habits, diseases transmitted and prevention methodology. Dr. Ashwani Kumar discussed key factors contributing to the tremendous increase of mosquitoes, particularly stagnant water. He highlighted the serious health risks associated and the spreading of diseases like malaria, dengue and zika virus.

He also shared essential preventive measures and practical strategies to avert vulnerability to mosquito bites and empowered students with valuable knowledge to protect themselves and the community. The lecture concluded with an engaging Q&A session, resulting in active participation and thoughtful discussion.

Unlocking Young Minds: Pupil Art Department's Interactive Workshop

On 20th November 2024, students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 took part in an enriching art workshop organized by the Pupil Art Department. Students who took part in the workshop had the opportunity to explore five specialized art disciplines:

Textile 
Painting
Printmaking
Ceramics
Carpentry

Guided by eight experienced instructors, the students observed the unique techniques and intricacies of each art form. The workshop provided valuable insights into the different disciplines, fostering creativity and sparking curiosity among the students.

The Pupil Art Department believes that art education plays a vital role in fostering creativity, self-expression, and innovation. This reflects our ongoing commitment to exposing students to the transformative power of the arts.

Nurturing a comprehensive understanding of art in children - is the motto of The Pupil Art Department. This workshop is another demonstration their commitment to guiding young talents and unlocking their full potential.

Celebrating Red Planet Day

On November 28, 2024, Red Planet Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by our Grade 3 students. Through a creative poster-making activity, they explored Mars' unique features, its striking red appearance, and its potential to host life.  This session fostered curiosity and enriched their knowledge of space

Grade 2 Visit to Swami Vivekananda House

On November 22, 2024, Grade 2 students visited Swami Vivekananda House  as part of their unit on "Our values and beliefs." They explored Swami Vivekananda's teachings on determination, discipline, and hard work. The highlight of the trip was an immersive VR experience showcasing his inspiring life, which deeply motivated the students. The trip inspired the students with his principles of spiritual well-being, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact.
